Since they were at a medical aid operation in Togo last winter, the surgeon Dr. Stephanie Deuble and Dr. Joachim Deuble has not let go of this time in one of Africa's poorest countries.
To intensify the help for self-help, Dr. Joachim Deuble, chief physician of general and visceral surgery of the district hospital Trostberg, initiated the foundation of the association "Aimes Afrique - Allemagne e.V."
This makes Germany the tenth country in the club "Aimes Afrique". Its President Michel Kodom traveled with his family from Togo to Bavaria for the solemn foundation of the club.
"I am very touched how many people Dr. Deuble could flock around to make this association possible," explained the sympathetic internist and hospital director in Togo's capital Lomé. Kodom. He launched "Aimes Afrique" in 2005 to bring medical aid to the country. "Many people in the villages have never seen a doctor in their lives," said Kodom. In order to change this, the committed physician also works with the "Aktion Patenkinder in Togo - Togohilfe e.V." initiative from the district of Fürstenfeldbruck together.
"During our two-week assignment for the 'Doctors Camp International' in central Togo, we saw clinical pictures that we no longer really know in Europe," said the couple Deuble. Suffering Togolese often suffered not only from pain, but also from social isolation.
Further supporters, whether material, ideal or practical, are pleased to see President Dr. Joachim Deuble, Treasurer Dr. Eckart Stör and Secretary Meinolf Pousset.
